Kids Craft Classes

We offer six fun Saturday classes for both boys and girls during the Elzinga’s Spring Season. Our classes are designed for little gardeners ages 3 and up.

• • Classes are 45-60 minutes in length and include instruction and supplies. Some parental assistance may be required for younger children.
  • Each class is available for $12.00 per child (24-child limit per class).
  • Each class begins at 11:00 a.m. from Saturday, May 9, through Saturday, June 27. No class on Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 23.
  • You can purchase all six classes at a reduced cost of $60.00 per child in advance.
  • Your child’s class registration is guaranteed once payment is received.
  • Class fees are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by Elzinga’s.

Classes fill up quickly, so don’t delay. Register three easy ways: 1) at the farm, 2) by phone at 219-865-1181 during our business hours, or 3) register online below. Online registration deadline is at midnight on the day before classes begin, but you can register in-store the day of class if space is available. Please call before you come. (Registrations purchased online after the midnight deadline will not be honored if class size exceeds 24 participants.)

Elzinga Farm & Greenhouse Kids Craft Classes for Spring 2020

Week 1 – May 9, 2020 @ 11:00 am – Chalky Flower Pot (Great Mother’s Day gift) – $12.00/child
Kids will decorate a chalkboard flowerpot with their name then plant a flower inside, learning how to care for potted plants.  This craft makes a wonderful Mother’s Day gift so they’ll have the option to wrap it up all cute and ready to give to the mother in their life!

Week 2 – May 16, 2020 @ 11:00 am – Dinosaur Succulent Planter – $12.00/child
Get ready dinosaur lovers!  Kids will plant a succulent inside the body of a dinosaur and learn how to keep it from “extinction” so the plant survives!  This may be the craft class season favorite!
Happy Memorial Day weekend

May 23, 2020 – Happy Memorial Day Weekend! (no classes)

Week 3 – May 30, 2020 @ 11:00 am – Flower Filled SunCatcher  – $12.00/child
This craft will prepare us for long sunny days making a suncatcher with fresh flowers and leaves creating a beautiful hanging indoor or outdoor decoration.  Take it home and find the best spot to let the sun dance through the colors!

Week 4 – June 6, 2020 @ 11:00 am – Bubble Wand Fun – $12.00/child
School ends and there’s plenty of time spent outdoors and this craft is perfect!  Kids will construct a DIY bubble wand from beads and wire, then we’ll try them out for some bubble blowing fun and bubbles to take home to keep the fun going all summer long!  This craft is back by popular demand!

Week 5 – June 13, 2020 @ 11:00 am – Flower Wall Art  –  $12.00/child
We brought this craft back as well upon request!  The kids paint a cardboard frame and then use fresh flowers and grass to assemble a very cool picture good enough to hang just about anywhere!  We love this one too!

Week 6 – June 30, 2020 @ 11:00 am – Zentangle® Rocks (Great Father’s Day Gift) – $12.00/child
Zentangle® is a calming art form using repetitive patterns.  In this final class of the season kids will use this technique to create easy and fun stones that can be placed in the garden, in a pot, or used as a paperweight.  Great Father’s Day gifts so they’ll have the option to wrap it up so it’s ready to give.

To register and pay for your class online, select the desired class, enter your child’s name and age, and click on the purchase button below. You will be directed to the PayPal checkout. A non-refundable $2.00 processing fee will be added to your transaction. If you wish to register for more than one class (other than the option to purchase all classes for one child), or register more than one child, you will need to make separate transactions by returning to this page after making each purchase.

It is not necessary to have a PayPal account to register and pay for your class. Just select the “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” option (example shown at right) while checking out.
